Pentacene morphology characteristics on the gradient OTS surfaces prepared by a combinatorial method |

It is greatly important to control pentacene morphology for improving the property of molecular electronic devices. In this study, we prepared reproducibly controlled pentacene morphology through a combinatorial method. To control pentacene morphology, we applied self-assembled monolayers of octadecyltricholrosilane(OTS) which was exposed to the polarity gradient system. Pentacene was deposited on the modified self-assembled monolayers which had various gradient surface energy. Both self-assembled monolayers and pentacene structures were well characterized with contact angle measurement, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy and x-ray reflectivity. |
