Because of air gap between the display module and touch screen panel in display, device optical visibility was reduced. In order to solve this matter, various materials which is called optical clear resin (OCR) are filled in the air gap. Among the various materials, silicone resin has excellent properties in terms of optical and thermal stability, but has the high gas permeability compared to other organic OCR resin (acryl, urethane etc). This drawback causes the short of display module lifetime. Silicon nanoparticles were used as a gas barrier to prevent this. First Br-terminated silicon nanoparticles were synthesized by the reaction of zintl salt (Ca2Si, Mg2Si etc) with Br2 and followed by reaction with allyl Grignard reagent to give allyl-terminated silicon nanoparticles. The allyl-functionalized silicon nanoparticles were about 3-10 nm size measured with transmission electron microscope (TEM). |
