Effects of post-heat-treatment on EMI shielding effectiveness of electroless nickel-coated glass fiber reinforced composites |

In order to develop the low cost EMI-SE materials for protective composite, Ni-coated glass fiber (Ni-GF) were prepared by an electroless method. Effects of post heat-treatment conditions on EMI-SE and mechanical properties of Ni-GF/epoxy composites were also investigated. The morphologies and structural properties of Ni-GF were measured by SEM and XRD. It was found that the crystallinity of Ni particles was increased after post heat-treatment. It was also found that the EMI-SE of composites enhanced with increasing post heat-treatment time. This result concludes that the EMI-SE of the composites can be enhanced according to the microstructure of Ni in the Ni-GF/epoxy composites. |
