제목 Application of PEGDC/PEO Hydrogels Crosslinked with Electron Beam as Postoperative Adhesion Barriers
초록 Postoperative adhesions are a significant problem of abdominal surgery and cause the potentially lethal bowel obstruction. The cross-linked polyethylene glycol dicarboxylates (PEGDC)/ polyethylene oxide (PEO) hydrogel was developed for the anti-adhesion barrier. Various PEGDC/PEO compositions were irradiated using an electron beam with several beam intensities in order to obtain various degrees of crosslinked hydrogels. Hydrogel film containing 10% of PEGDC exhibited high gel contents (86±1.4%), strong mechanical strength (1.78±0.19MPa) and sufficient tissue adherence (8.67±0.57cN) to make sure that the film was easily placed onto tissue with good adherence during the wound healing process. The results proved the possibility of the superficial production of a film with high mechanical strength and sufficient tissue adherence with very low cytotoxicity and hemolysis as an anti-adhesion barrier.
