Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the third leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide. Recently, immunotherapy with natural killer (NK) lymphocytes has emerged as a potential strategy for HCC treatment. In cancer immunotherapy, the infiltration of NK cells into cancer tissues is essential for effective cancer treatment. Here, we demonstrate immunomodulatory microbeads (IMM-MB) for the tumor-specific infiltration of NK cells with MR image guidance. The IMM-MB is composed of PLGA as biocompatible polymers, iron oxide nanoparticles as MR contrast agents, and immunomodulatory agents. |
