The area of kinetic resolution has grown tremendously during the last few years. Remarkable progress had been made in the use of chiral catalysts to synthesize valuable enantioenriched intermediates of the academic and pharmaceutical interests [1–4]. A wide range of synthesis and application of chiral catalysts have been studied as a practical and commercial advantage. Herein, we introduce the highly effective methods for the asymmetric ring opening reaction catalyzed by the new chiral heterometallic (salen) Co complexes as various types. The homogeneous chiral catalysts were immobilized through different methods including covalent or non-covalent linkages in this work, and they showed high enantioselectivity in the catalytic synthesis of various chiral blocks which can be used as useful intermediates in the pharmaceutical industry. |
