제목 Synthesis of α,ω-heterotelechelic poly(ethylene oxide) using sodium azide as a functional initiator
초록 Alkali metal alkoxides have been used as excellent anionic initiator to polymerize ethylene oxide(EO) resulting in “living” polymerization. In this study, sodium azide as an anionic initiator was used for polymerization of EO. Polymerization was performed in DMF at 50℃ for 12h, followed by precipitation in excess diethyl ether. The sodium polymeric alkoxide was reacted with several electrophiles to obtain α-azido based heterotelechelic PEOs. In particular, α-azido-ω-carboxylate PEO was synthesized through the similar method using succinic anhydride or maleic anhydride. In this study, I will discuss the preliminary results for synthesis of azido based heterotelechelic PEO and its application field.
