Photovoltaic performance of solid state dye-sensitized solar cells with biscarbazole-based hole transport materials |

Despite the fact that dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) with liquid electrolytes have been reported to exhibit high efficiency, leakage of volatile liquid electrolytes limits to their commercial applications. Thus, a great deal of research work has been focusing on searching for efficient solid-state hole transporting materials (HTMs) to replace redox mediators in liquid electrolytes. In this study, solid-state DSSCs with a biscarbazole-based hole transporting polymer were fabricated, and their photovoltaic properties were examined. A solid-state DSSC showed a power conversion efficiency of 3.11%, resulting from 6.83 mA/cm2 of the short-circuit voltage, 0.60 V of the open-circuit voltage and 75.92% of fill factor. |
