제목 Experimental study of wetting prevention of hydrophobic coated hollow fiber membranes contactor​ for CO2 ​capture
초록 Hollow fiber membrane contactors (HFMCs) is an one of the most effective method for carbon dioxide capture due to their superior surface area between the liquid and the gas.  

However, when CO₂​ absorbent solution wets the membrane and smears a membrane, CO₂ capture performance drops dramatically. To prevent membrane wetting phenomena, hydrophobic membrane coating was applied.

 

In this study polypropylene was selected as a membrane material and perfluoroether(PFE) grafted silane (KY-164, Shin-Etsu) was used as a coating material to form hydrophobic nature of membrane surface.

 

Effect of hydrophobic coated HFMCs on the CO₂ ​capture performance was tested.
