제목 Effect of silica on the rheological-morphological relationshipts of (80/20) PP/PS blends
초록 Effects of various types of silica particles on PP/PS blends were studied using rheological properties.The hydrophilic fumed silica used in this study was AEROSIL OX50 and the hydrophobic one were SIPERNAT D17 and AEROSIL R202.The NLR≡Normalized nonlinear/Normalized linear viscoelasticity was used to quantify the degree of dispersion and distinguish the different responses of silica particles.Interestingly,NLR parameter could estimate the morphological behavior of the blends by showing increments (NLR>1) for hydrophobic silica particles and constant values for hydrophilic silica (up to 7 phr OX50).Further,NLR for the PP/PS/R202 blends were relatively larger than those of PP/PS/D17 with lower droplet sizes.It can be suggested that NLR is the reflection of two contributions:dispersion quality of silica particles within the host matrix PP and droplet size effects.Thus,larger NLR values of PP/R202 than those of PP/D17 revealed the stronger inter-particle interactions in case of PP/R202.
