제목 | Waterborne Polyester Resin based on 5-SSIPA and NPG Glycol |
초록 | Due to a growing interest in environmental compatible coating systems and rising limitations in the use of volatile organic compounds by law, waterborne coatings are becoming more important as alternatives to solvent borne coatings. 5-Sodiosulfo isophthalic acid a polyester intermediate, combined with NPG glycol can be used to produce waterborne polyester resins. It is no longer necessary to depend on amine-neutralized carboxylated polyester for waterborne polyester coatings. React the resin down to a final acid number of 10 or less to help minimize the number of unreacted acid groups in the resin. The Mn of all the resulting oligomers was determined by GPC to be in the range of 460-540. It is evident that higher levels of 5-SSIPA in the dispersion result in decreased humidity resistance of a clear coating. |
