Single layered 2D materials have been receiving great attention in diverse research fields due to their unique optical, electrical and mechanical properties. Many studies to prepare single layer 2D materials have been developed such as electrochemical, mechanical exfoliation. However, these approaches causes crucial issues that creates ununiformity, and surface defects of the material. In this study, we investigated a unique method to exfoliate bulk layered MoO3. The main idea of our research is that the breaking Van der waals force between the layers by growth larger nanoparticles than interlayer distance. Once the sequntial steps of growth and exfoliation, we expect that the Au/MoO3 hybrid nanostructure with reduced dimension could be obtained. The formation of Au NPs was confirmed by monitoring the emerging Au LSPR using UV-Vis spectrophotometer and TEM and XRD were used to characterize structural information. |
