제목 Different strategies for superhydrophilic and stable antifogging coating
초록 Formation of coatings with combined properties of being superhydrophilic / superhydrophobic, are of immense applications in the field of optics. In our present work, we have made an attempt to develop a hydrophilic, antifogging, transparent, and stable coating by employing an anionic electrolyte, Tiron. The effect of pH on appropriate conversion of metal oxide substrates to respective metal hydroxides has been considered. After analysing the initial outputs, an organic-inorganic combination was formulted by mixing appropriate ratios of organic silanol coupling agents and diacrylates component to impart strong adhesion to the substrate and inorganic component of a hybrid mixture of silica, titania and Tiron for the antifogging behavior. The substrates, polycarbonate glass or glass were dip coated into the hybrid precursor solution at a suitable withdrawal rate to form uniform and smooth film with the thickness of few nanometers. The sequential process of drying of the coated films involved thermal curing at varied temperature and time. The surface chemistry of the coated films was studied by taking ATR-IR measurements and the wetting behavior was characterised by contact angle measurement.
