Two factors that unfavorable O2 dissociation and favorable H2 dissociation are important for direct catalytic synthesis of H2O2. Among known pure metal, Pd which is well known as catalyst for H2O2 synthesis is the only metal satisfying two requirements. We suggest a new design consisting of bimetallic nanoparticles of immiscible elements that complementary role. We synthesized Rh-Ag bimetallic nanoparticles by using chemical reduction method for hydrogen peroxide synthesis. TEM, XRD, ICP, and EDX confirm that the nanoparticles consist of Rh and Ag. Also we controlled Rh weight ratio from 3% to 50%. From the measurements of activity for hydrogen peroxide synthesis. Finally, we prove that the Rh-Ag bimetallic nanoparticles can be a substitute of Pd for hydrogen peroxide synthesis. |
