제목 | Microalgae based bioplastics and processing platform development |
초록 | Inorder to fabricate bio-based plastics to replace petroleum-based plastics, microalgalbiomass have been identified as an alternative type of biomass, consisting ofmicron-sized organic-complex particles with a high carbon density, because ofseveral benefits such as growth in waste water and consumption of high amountsof CO2 in the atmosphere through oxygenic photo-synthesis. We have investigatedunfractionated protein-rich microalgae (Chlorellasp. HS2) (HS2) as a new CO2-derivedbiomass filler resource with which to develop an ecofriendly microalgae-basedpolymer composite. It has been found that protein-rich HS2 hashydrophilic-hydrophobic surface and compatibility with polymers with polarfunctional (C=O, etc), suggestingthat it is a promising biomass filler that disperses in a polymer to themicrometer scale without additional chemical treatment. On the other hand, residualHS2 produced through microalgal biorefinery process has been evaluating as abiomass filler. |
