제목 Whole cell biotransformation of dodenandoic acid into dodecanal by carboxylic acid eductase (CAR) in E. coli
초록 Fatty aldehydes are one of very useful bio-feedstocks and utilized not only in the scent, flavour and cosmetics industry, but also in polymerization reagents for highly reactivity in the industry. In particular, it may be used as a precursor of amine to synthesize polyamide12(PA12) by transamination reaction. As PA12 is widely used in the fields of synthetic fibers and computers because of its good hygroscopicity, abrasion resistance and chemical resistance, sustainable and eco-friendly production of PA12 is very promising. Several biological preparations of PA12 have been reported previously and reduced hydrocarbons were greatly used for those purpose, which require further oxidation. In this study, however, we used dodecanoic acid for dodecanal production using carboxylic acid reductase(CAR). A total of 13 CAR were screened, and among them, CAR isolated from Mycobacterium smegmatis Has shown approximately 40 ~ 50% of conversion in dodecanoic acid whole cell biotransformation.
