C1 gas biorefinergy using bioelectrochemical system for value-added chemicals |
초록 |
The carbon monoxide conversion into volatile fatty acids and value-added platform chemicals, have been of great interest in industrial biotechnology due to the demand syngas fermentation and treatment of industrial flue gas. Nevertheless, the biological CO conversion process is difficult to be implemented into the industry due to lack of cost-effective process. Although many technical advancements in process and biocatalysts have been developed and implemented, the low conversion yield and/or cell growth of CO-utilizing microbes still hinders to develop appropriate biorefinery process for gas substrate. Recently, bioelectrochemical system based CO/CO2 conversion provide a potential route to improve conversion efficiency and cell growth of strains. In this presentation, we summary the research outcome of BES based CO/CO2 conversion as well as recent reports and application in respect of the development of gas conversion bioprocess system. |
