Estimation of the interfacial energy between heterogenous polymers based on the spontaneous induction of morphological transformation of kinetically stable particles |
초록 |
Measurement of the interfacial surface energy between two heterogeneous polymers is not trivial. In this work, We propose a method for predicting the interfacial energy between heterogeneous polymers by converting a kinetically stable particle (KSP) to a thermodynamically stable particle (TSP) and comparing the result with the surface free energy calculation. KSP can be fabricated using piezo-driven inkjet technology; the rapid evaporation of a volatile solvent including the generated heterogeneous polymer droplets in the air leads to the instantaneous solidification before forming a thermodynamically stable structure. KSP can be induced to have a thermodynamically stable morphology by swelling under an appropriate solvent environment. Using the surface energy calculation method, a library of various structures according to the change in the solid-solid interface energy can be produced, and the solid-solid interface energy value can be found by comparing the experimental results. |
