Because of its topological peculiarity, cyclic polymers show distinct properties relative to linear polymers. Typically cyclic polymers are prepared by end-linking of linear precursors and it is possible to obtain the same molar mass counterparts to compare the properties of cyclic polymers with linear ones. The HPLC retention of polymers depends on the relative size of a polymer chain to the pore size (R/d) and interaction strength of the polymer chains with the stationary phase of the column. In this study, we investigated the retention behavior of cyclic polymer vs. linear polymer at the 3three different separation modes of HPLC, size exclusion chromatography (SEC), liquid chromatography at the critical condition (LCCC), interaction chromatography |
