제목 | Structural and electrochemical characteristics of Scandium doped PrBaCo2O5+δ as cathode material for the intermediate-temperature solid oxide fuel cell |
초록 | Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) have received much attention as eco-friendly energy storage and conversion devices to replace existing fossil fuel-based systems. Layered perovskites are considered as promising cathode materials of SOFC due to their high electrical conductivity and fast oxygen kinetics. However, the slowdown of the low temperature oxygen kinetics at the cathode has been pointed out as a major problem. This study was carried out to improve the oxygen kinetics of PrBaCo2O5+δ (PBCO) cathode material by doping scandium. We confirmed that the area specific resistance (ASR) of PBCO decreased with doping scandium in symmetrical cell, indicating that the doping scandium improve electrochemical performance. As a result, it showed high power density value of 0.726 W / cm2 at 500oC, which is 1.4 times higher performance than that of PBCO. |
