제목 Metal Phosphate-based Overlayer for Boosting Photoelectrochemical Water Oxidation Performance of CuWO4
초록 Photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting has paid attention due to eco-friendly and sustainable properties for producing solar fuel. Copper tungstate (CuWO4) is one of promising metal oxide based photoanode due to its intrinsic properties such as high theoretical photocurrent density, narrow band gap, preferable band edge position for water oxidation and good photostability in broad pH range. However, CuWO4 has drawbacks, such as abundant charge recombination, slow charge transport, and sluggish surface kinetics. In this study, to overcome above-mentioned disadvantages, we introduced the phosphorylation treatment on the surface of CuWO4 ​​photoanode. CuWO4 surface kinetic and charge kinetics can be improved due to the phosphate-based treated surface, which has lower free energy for hydroxyl radical formation than bare CuWO4.
