Development of supported iridium catalysts for green synthesis of nitrogen-containing chemicals |
초록 |
The development of novel solid catalysts that can realize environmentally-benign, energy-saving way of the synthesis of fine chemicals is highly desirable.[1] In the present study, solid oxide-supported iridium catalysts that are effective for the selective synthesis of nitrogen-containing chemicals under significantly mild conditions were developed. For example, titania-supported iridium catalysts were found to realize the synthesis of benzimidazole (3aa) at significantly lower temperatures than those required for the Ru complex-catalyzed reactions, i.e. over 200 oC:[2] the reaction of 1,2-phenylenediamine (1a) and benzyl alcohol (2a) at 120 oC for 18 h with Ir(2.0 wt%)/TiO2 selectively gave 3aa in 97% yield, and a high TON over 800 was achieved in the reaction of 1a with 2a at a high substrate-to-catalyst ratio. These catalysts could be recycled without a significant loss of activity. |
