제목 Blend System Hydrogels with Highly Increased Mechanical Properties for Islet Cell Delivery
초록 Hydrogels are of great interest as potential candidates for protein delivery carrier and cell proliferation scaffold because they contain a lot of water. In this study, we designed a novel blend system injectable hydrogel with high mechanical properties for islet cell delivery carrier. Firstly, the two hydroxyl groups of Pluronic F127 was simply modified into two types of functional groups, thiol and pyridyl disulfide, respectively. In physiological environment, gelation occurs firstly via micelle packing mechanism of Pluronic F127 and thiol-disulfide exchange reaction happens after micelle packing mechanism. The properties of resultant chemically as well as physically crosslinked Pluronic F127 hydrogels exhibited highly increased mechanical properties in physiological environment. Further, by in vivo experiment, we confirmed that this hydrogel system can be applied to islet cell delivery system for controlling high glucose level in blood.
