Poly(silsesquioxane) with the unique double-chain and ladder structuere was prepared through the base-catalyzed hydrolytic polycondensation of CPT(p-chloromethyl phenylmethoxy silane). Ladder poly(silsesquioxane) has excellent thermal stability, oxidative resistance, and mechanical strength. Carbon nanotubes(CNTs) have outstanding physical properties and their nanometer sizes with high surface area have attracted tremendous attention in recent years. In this study, poly(silsesquioxane) with functionalized MWNTs, that is, polysilsesquioxane-grafted-MWNTs, was synthesized by poly(silsesquioxane) with (chloromethyl)benzene group and MWNT-COOH. The composition, structure, and thermal property of ladder poly(silsesquioxane) with functionalized MWNTs were characterized by 1H-NMR, SEM, AFM, TGA, and DSC. |
