제목 | Investigation of Sr Doped Layered Perovskites, NdBa1-xSrxCo2O5+d, for SOFC Cathode Applications |
초록 | Mixed electronic ionic conductors (MEIC) present very useful properties for SOFC cathodes. The ability to transport both types of species allows the oxygen reduction reaction to be extended beyond the immediate triple phase boundary and can result in an overall reduction in cathode polarisation resistance. Of these types of material, perovskite type materials based on the general formula ABaCo2O5+d have been receiving increased interest lately. These materials have a tetragonal unit cell, however they also exhibit longer range ordering and structure with the formation of planes of Ba cations and the M3+ oxide, with oxide ion vacancies concentrating in the latter. This structure often leads to these materials being termed as layered perovskites and it is the presence of these layers which facilitates the rapid transport properties often observed in these materials. In this paper the effects of Sr substitution, Sr doping level and synthesis route on other layered perovskites with the general formula Nd(Ba1-xSrx)Co2O5+d were described. The effects of these changes on the performance as an SOFC cathode using AC impedance on symmetrical cathode cells formed from inks applied to gadolinia doped ceria pellets. Effects on the cathode polarisation and DC resistance will be discussed with respect to Sr doping level, cathode microstructure and crystallographic structure. |
