제목 Rheological properties of epoxy resin filled with expanded graphite oxide
초록 Polymer/layered inorganic nanocomposites have been extensively studies because of their excellent properties. Polymer/layered silicate systems has been paid much attention during past decade but not polymer/layered graphite oxide (GO). GO, like layered silicates, a typical two-dimensional solid in bulk form, are composed of layered nanosheets possessing hydroxyl, carbonyl and ether groups. The GO, synthesized from graphite by modified Hummers method [1], was dispersed in epoxy resin YD128. Homogenous viscous suspension of epoxy resin filled with expanded graphite oxide was obtained. Rheological properties of those suspensions were studied in term of flow mode and oscillation mode. Shear thinning behaviour and “Payne effect” of epoxy resin filled with GO were observed. The shear thinning behavior and Payne effect were attributed to rearrangement and agglomeration-deaggromeration of layered GO under shear force.
