In this work, we developed rapid responsive photo-actuators with light-responsive hydrogels containing magnetite nanoparticles (MNPs). To prepare rapid responding hydrogel, a semi-interpenetrating polymer network with macromonomers instead of homogeneous monomer were synthesized. We found that the grafted poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAm) hydrogels containing MNPs show rapid volume change and recovery under visible light irradiation. Furthermore, this rapid responding hydrogels allows for the design of remote controlled photo-actuator. |
