Highly Sensitive Liquid-Phase Detection Based on Solvent-Resistant Organic Field-Effect Transistor Sensing Platforms |

The applications of organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) in chemical and biological sensors have attracted great interest owing to their diverse advantages such as low-cost fabrication, mechanical flexibility, and disposability after use, in comparison with inorganic-based sensors. However, poor sustainability of organic semiconducting films in organic solvents has significantly hindered the introduction of liquid-phase organic solvents as analytes to the sensors. Herein, we report the OFET-based sensors using solvent-resistive organic semiconducting films as the active layers that can detect various liquid-phase organic solvents. Reliable sensing capability toward various liquid analytes was obtained with our approach. Our results demonstrate a new methodology for the fabrication of OFET-based sensors that can detect liquid-phase organic solvents directly. |
