제목 Recovery of Valuable Materials from Spent Primary and Secondary Batteries
초록 This study has been conducted to recover valuable materials from spent primary and secondary batteries by pyrometallurgical processes. Spent manganese-alkaline and nickel-cadmium were used to recover zinc, nickel, cadmium and manganese and lithium ion battery was also used to recover lithium, cobalt, nickel and manganese through various processes as follows. Primary batteries were dismantled and reduced by reducing gas with hydrogen and methane gases and zinc and cadmium were evaporated and could be collected in condenser separately. Secondary batteries were carbonated by CO2 gas and lithium carbonate and cobalt/nickel/manganese oxides were separated. The lithium carbonate was dissolved in water and other oxides were reduced to become metallic forms.
