제목 Surface Functionalized SiNPs for Anode Active Materials of Lithium Polymer Batteries
초록 Recently, Si based anodes have attracted significant attention, as they offer high theoretical specific capacity of 4200mAh/g, which is 10 times higher than that of conventional graphite anode. However, the development of stable Si anode is a challenge due to large volume change during lithiation/de-lithiation. To overcome this issue, we have synthesized surface functionalized Si nanoparticles (SiNPs) using Li-ion conducting polymers, polyethylene oxide (PEO). The surface capping layers not only provide the ability to control the spacing between SiNPs but act as buffer layers to accommodate volume changes of SiNPs during lithiation/de-lithiation The cycle behavior was characterized by galvanostatic methods and the morphological changes of SiNPs anode before/after cycles were investigated by HRTEM and XRD.
