Herein, we report the fabrication of ternary hybrid nanostructures consisting of manganese oxide nanoparticles-coated carbon nanofibers/reduced graphene oxide for developing high-performance electrochemical capacitors. Carbon nanofibers were decorated with manganese oxide nanoclusters and then wrapped with reduced graphene oxide sheets in solution phase. The specific capacitances of the resulting nanohybrids were examined in an acidic electrolyte and found to be 50 to 200 F/g depending on the content of reduced graphene oxide. Of course, the capacitances were higher than those of control samples (only reduced graphene oxide or manganese oxide-coated nanofibers), which was likely due to the synergistic effect of the constituent components. |
