제목 Effects of Electrochemical Oxidation on Surface Properties and Interfacial Shear Strength of Carbon Fibers
초록 In this work, we studied the effects of electrochemical oxidation on surface properties of carbon fibers (CFs) and interfacial adhesion between epoxy and polypropylene matrix at various current densities. The CF surface properties before and after the surface treatment were analyzed by SEM, FT-IR, XPS, and contact angle. Mechanical interfacial properties of CF/epoxy and polypropylene resin were investigated by interfacial shear strength in terms of a micro-bond method. From the results, it was found that the increase in the O1s peak on fiber surfaces after the treatment led to an increase in the surface free energy and the interfacial adhesion between CF/epoxy and polypropylene resins.
