제목 Preparation and characteristics of melt-blended EPDM/Polyamide12 thermoplastic elastomers
초록 Ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM)/polyamide12 (PA12) thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) were prepared through melt-blending processes and their characteristics were investigated. The mechanical properties of the EPDM/PA12 TPEs were improved in the presence of maleated EPDM for the compatibilization of the components. The properties of the TPEs were further improved by the application of electron beam irradiation for selective crosslinking of EPDM, as evidenced by the gel content and DSC. The melt-recyclability of the TPE were also successfully confirmed, demonstrating facile preparation of eco-friendly TPEs through simple and scalable melt-blending processes.
