In recent years, bio-based polymers derived from renewable resources and their nanocomposites with inorganic fillers have been extensively studied to develop environmentally benign materials as alternative to traditional petroleum-based polymers. In this study, we synthesized a fully bio-based amorphous polyamide using 1,10-diaminodecane and itaconic acid as monomers, which are derived from renewable resources, by melt polycondensation. Then, graphene oxide (GO) was incorporated into the polyamide to improve its performance properties. The polyamide/GO nanocomposites were prepared with GO contents of 0.5, 1 and 2 wt% by solution mixing. Interfacial interactions, microstructure, thermal, mechanical properties and shape memory effects of the nanocomposites were investigated by FTIR, FESEM, TGA, DSC, DMA and tensile test. |
