Nanoporous covalent framework (NCF) membranes, prepared by a combination of organic sol-gel process and phase separation, can be a candidate for metal nanocatalysts support. The resulting NCF membrane showed a three-dimensionally continuous pore structure with pore size ranging from 5 nm to tens of nanometers. It allows the metal nanocatalysts to be uniformly dispersed into the nanopores of NCF membrane that would prevent the nanocatalyst from leaching or aggregation. Additionally, by controlling the concentration of metal precursor solution, the mean sizes and (or) quantitative amounts of metal nanocatalysts were precisely adjusted. The new materials can be applied as catalytic membrane reactors in the liquid-phase partial hydrogenation of alkynes under continuous flow conditions. They showed excellent catalytic performance, both in terms of activity and selectivity, and long-term stability under mild reaction conditions. |
