Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted by industrial process need to be removed, since it causes serious damages on human health. In this study, MnO2-Al2O3 with mesoporous structure were synthesized to apply as a support of toluene oxidation catalysts. Poly(alkylene oxide) Triblock copolymer was used as a template to make a mesoporous structure of MnO2-Al2O3. In addition, two different types of Manganese precursors were used to control oxidation state of Mn. We performed Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area analysis to confirm surface area and pore size distribution of MnO2-Al2O3. Then, Pt nanoparticle was deposited on mesoporous MnO2-Al2O3. Prepared catalysts were tested for catalytic oxidation of toluene. |
