Electrochemical analysis of metal ions using iminodiacetatic acid modified polythiophene electrode |

The random copolymer of 3-methyl thiophene (3MT) and 3-thiophene acetic acid (3TA) were chosen as the conducting polymer electrode. The carboxylic group of the copolymer was further modified with the derivative of iminodiacetatic acid (IDA). The modified electrode was used for the electrochemical analysis of various trace metal ions such as Cu(II), Pb(II), and Ni(II) by square wave voltammetry (SWV) . The limit value for the detection was confirmed in the range of 50-0.1 mM of metal ions concentration. The modified electrode offers an excellent way for the selective trace determination of various metal ions in a solution and a high stability and a recyclable affinity. |
