Copolymerization of ethylene and hexene by dinuclear half-titanocenes having xylene bridge with MAO. |
초록 |
It was known that the nature of the bridge between two active sites exerted a significant influence on the catalytic properties of dinuclear metallocenes. We have prepared three dinuclear half-titanocenes [Ti(η5-cyclopentadienyl)Cl2L]2[CH2-C6H4-CH2] (L=2,6-iPr2C6H3) by treating 2 equivalents of aryl lithium salt with the corresponding chloride compounds. Using these complexes we conducted polymerization of ethylene and 1-hexene. It was found that all of these compounds were efficient catalysts for the polymerization of ethylene and 1-hexene. It was observed that activities of the catalysts having xylene bridge between two half-titanocenes were actually greater than those of the catalysts having polymethylene bridge. This result demonstrates that the rigidity of the bridge plays a major role to direct the activity of the dinuclear metallocenes. Amount of 1-hexene incorporation on polyethylene backbone has been investigated by the analysis of polymer microstructure. |
