A metallopolymer was prepared using poly(vinyl chloride (PVC), ferric chloride hexahydrate and trimethylolpropane tris(3-mercaptopropionate). The obtained metallopolymer solution exhibits highly transparent, amphiphobic properties and soft by spin coating on glass substrate. The PVC metallopolymer functionalized with (3-mercaptopropyl)trimethoxysilane (MPTMS) or methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMS) was showed hydrophobic properties and improved mechanical strength, transparency even at higher temperatures (150 °C) and thermal stability. The functional group changes during the reaction and surface morphologies and contact angle of the coated substrate was analyzed by UV, FTIR, 1H-NMR, XPS, HR-SEM, HR-TEM and drop shape analysis system. Excellent anti-stain and self-cleaning properties were obtained after functionalizing the metallopolymer. The obtained results showed the possibilities of using the metallopolymer for multi-purpose applications. |
