In this study, conducting poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) was synthesized by emulsion polymerization using di(2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinic acid (HDEHS) as a dopant. The size and stability of micelle were measured by monitoring of Zeta-Potential. The variation of initial micelle size and dispersion stability was investigated as a function of the concentration of the dopant, HDEHS. As the concentration of HDEHS in water increased from 4 wt.% to 11 wt.%, Zeta potential decreased from -90 ~ -31 mV and Zeta size increased from 157 to 421 nm. Under the same concentrations used, electrical conductivity of resulting PEDOT were in the range of 7.78 ~ 28.0 S/cm and reaction yield were in the range of 17 ~ 38%. It was confirmed that the stability of initial micell size affected to the electrical conductivity. Also structural, thermal properties of PEDOT/HDEHS were investigated by UV-Vis, FT-IR, XRD spectroscopy and DSC, TGA. |
