제목 Laminar Flow Mixing in a Piezoelectric Diffuser/Nozzle-based Micropump for Microfluidic Applications
초록 Diffuser/nozzle-based micropump has a bi-directionally oscillating flow in chamber because of the principle of its operation. In previous studies, it was observed that this bi-directionally oscillating flow causes the circular flow in micropump chamber. In this study, we evaluate the laminar flow mixing by the circular flow in micropump chamber. At first, we calculate the velocity field in mciropump by simulation and then we test mixing performance of laminar flow by using simulation results. If pumping and mixing could be achieved at the same time, it would be expected to reduce the number of components in microfluidic system. Thus, it will be possible to fabricate with simple process with easy integration.
