Recently, fluorescent nanomaterials such as polymer dots (PDs), carbon dots (CDs), and inorganic quantum dots (QDs) have received great academic and industrial interests. Above fluorescent ‘dots’ can be widely exploited for photocatalysis, sensing, solar energy harvesting, bioimaging, gene and drug delivery, and other applications. PDs are based on polymers rather than highly carbonized carbon framework observed in most CDs. While the synthesis of PDs is much industrially preferable compared with CDs, PDs can also present strong fluorescence and excellent biocompatibility. In this study, we synthesized fluorescent polyethyleneimine (PEI)-based PDs showing blue emission and multicolor photoluminescence behavior under different excitation wavelength. The synthesis of PEI-based PDs is based on the facile and quick one-step microwave operation. The compositional and morphological features of prepared PDs will be discussed in detail. 2017년 한국교통대학교 지원을 받아 수행하였음. |
