The development of environmental friendly and efficient synthetic methods for the synthesis of nanoparticles is one of the key issues in nanoscience research. Here, we describe the synthesis of silver nanoparticles (Ag NP’s) in the aqueous extract of Alnus firma leaf as a reducing agent. AgNPs were prepared by adding silver nitrate solution to the plant extract with 6h reaction times at 30°C temperature. The size of the particles was analyzed using UV–vis spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy with X-ray microanalysis, transmission electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction. The antibacterial activity of the silver nanoparticles was evaluated by minimal inhibitory concentration method. The silver nanoparticles showed antibacterial activity against E. coli, L. monocytogenes, P. aeruginosa, P. mirabilis. |
