Poly(methyl methacrylate)와 poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile)의 공기-물 계면에서의 상용성 |
초록 |
Miscible polymer blends of the poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and the random copolymer of the styrene and the acrylonitile(PSAN) were used to study the compatibility in the Langmuir monolayers formed with the blends of these two on water surface. PMMA is known for its ability to form a well-defined Langmuir film and for its miscibility with PSAN. Miscibility can be varied by the changing the contents of acrylonitrile in PSAN. When the blend is placed in two-dimensional state as a Langmuir film, the modification of the thermodynamics of mixing and the molecular arrangement of the constituent molecules would take place. Surface pressure-area isotherms and surface potentials of PMMA and PSAN mixtures were measured on the water subphase and apparent dipole moments of the polymers in the Langmuir films at the air-water interface were calculated. The compatibility of PMMA and PSAN was dependent on the AN content. These two were compatible when AN content was 24.2 wt% and 32 wt%, which correlates with three dimensional systems.
