제목 Studying the thermal stability of InP magic-size cluster with different carboxylic acids and their effect on the nucleation and growth of InP QDs
초록 InP QDs are considered as an alternative to Cd-based QDs for display material. Large Bohr radius and small band gap of InP QDs makes tuning the emission spectra of InP QDs difficult, because these properties are more sensitive to particle size of InP QDs compared to Cd-based QDs. In this study, we modified the current standardized InP core synthesis method to achieve narrower size distribution. In common InP core synthesis that use In(acetate)3, tris(trimethylsilyl)phosphine and long alkyl chain carboxylic acid as molecular precursors, InP magic-size clusters (MSCs) are necessarily generated as intermediates during the growth of InP QDs. However, Indium-carboxylates formed from In(acetate)3 reacting with carboxylic acids have strong bond strength and induce high thermal stability of InP MSCs. Furthermore, high thermal stability of InP MSCs make it difficult to control nucleation and growth InP core. To address this issue, we used carboxylic acid with different properties to modify stability of InP MSCs.
