제목 A Facile, Non-Oxidative and Highly Efficient Method for the Purification of Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes
초록 In spite of considerable developments of carbon nanotubes in a short period, several challenges are still ahead. The most fundamental issue is their purity, which creates a big hurdle for their direct application in a variety of areas such as molecular electronic devices, chemical and biological sensors, and for several other information technology devices. Until now, their purification has been mostly based on destructive methods such as oxidation, Such harsh techniques lead to an increase in defect sites on the side-walls of single-walled carbon nanotubes. Recently, non-destructive purification methods have been employed including filtration, microwave irradiation, chromatography, and polymer-assisted purification. However, it is difficult to scale up these processes. To overcome these problems, we report a facile and a highly efficient, non-oxidative method for purification, which led to isolated, highly pure, and less bundalized single-walled carbon nanotubes. The method is characterized by simplicity, high reproducibility, and efficiency and is expected to play a significant role for the application of single-walled carbon nanotubes.
