Wearable electronics has progressed dramatically and has opened the prospective future, including electric circuits, flexible displays, stretchable energy storages, electronic skins, wearable devices, etc. We developed simple and cost-effective fabrication method of nanohybrid composites with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and silicone rubber, such as polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) elastomer, for improving its electrical and mechanical properties for wearable electronics. CNT/silicone rubber composites provide high flexibility, elasticity, and electrical/thermal conductivity itself and are also biocompatible and mechanically stable, while they are demonstrated to create functional materials that are used for effective bio-signal monitoring. This composite provides a promising a material for various applications of flexible, stretchable and wearable electronic devices, particularly considering the growing global interests in wearable healthcare monitoring system. |
