In this work, the science and engineering that are present at the interfaces in the anode and nearby transport layer of the organic light emitting diode are stidued. Various self-assembled multifunctional surface modifiers as well as the fluoro-acrylic polymers with nanoscale-thickness are considered. Surface chemical properties of fluoropolymer, on indium-tin oxide (ITO) are characterized by X-ray photoemission spectroscopy. The efficiency and lifetime behavior shows the improvement of operational stability, which can be explained by the suppression of voltage increase. Relevant issues on the physical/chemical treatment of electrodes and the reduction of charge injection barrier by the optimization of interface will be described in detail, aiming for the successful design and fabrication process of the flexible organic light emitting diodes. |
