Ferrierite (FER) zeolite is well-known medium pore zeolite with intersecting channels [8MR (4.8×3.5 Å) and 10MR (5.4×4.2 Å)]. The catalyst has been considered as an excellent selectivity as catalyst for the skeletal isomerization of n-butene. However, FER zeolite cannot be activated for methanol-to-olefin (MTO) reaction because the carbon accumulation in the 10MR channel entrance during the MTO reaction leads the pore blockage, which consequently deteriorates the catalytic performance. In this study, we prepared cerium-modified FER zeolite with a high loading of 30 wt% to completely mask their external surfaces. The methanol conversion over FER zeolite was rapidly decreased, but cerium-modified FER zeolite was maintained above 98% until 250 min at 673K. |
