Novel Hard-Soft Block Copolymers and Their Morphology Control |

Novel hard-soft diblock copolymers with different compositions were synthesized using RAFT polymerization technique. The composition ratio of hard and soft blocks and their molecular weights were controlled by changing the concentration of crystalline monomer relative to macro-chain transfer agent and polymerization time. Thermal and physical properties of the new diblock copolymers were investigated by DSC, TGA and GPC. The solvent annealing of the diblock copolymers created nano-scaled morphologies such as lamellae and hexagonal cylinder. Their nano-patterns also were easily transferred into a silicone oxide substrate through a conventional etching process. |
